About Dhel Ahaddas
Dhel Ilul Ahaddas is a proud Yakan cultural bearer from Basilan — a gifted weaver, musician, and dancer carrying forward the artistic legacy of her community. A direct descendant of a lineage of master artists, she is the niece of two Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan awardees: Uwang Ahaddas for music and Ambalang Ausalin for weaving.
Dhel is a passionate teacher of Pansak, the traditional Yakan dance performed during significant celebrations such as weddings (pagkawin). With grace and authenticity, she shares not only movement but also the deep-rooted meanings behind Yakan expressions of rhythm, identity, and tradition.
Through her workshops and performances, Dhel continues to inspire younger generations and cultural enthusiasts alike — bringing the vibrant heritage of the Yakan people to the national stage and beyond.
